The 7th edition of the Cornwall Hi-Fi & Home Cinema Show has officially wrapped up, and this year was undoubtedly the biggest and best yet! Hosted by HBH Woolacotts at the Royal Cornwall Showground on October 4th and 5th, the event was a hit among visitors, customers and exhibitors alike.
Since its humble beginnings in 2017, the Cornwall Hi-Fi & Home Cinema Show has grown exponentially and 2024 proved to be no exception. To accommodate the increasing number of exhibitors and attendees, show organisers added a marquee next to the Pavilion Centre; this newly dubbed “TV Tent” showcased leading TV brands like LG, Samsung, Panasonic and Loewe, as well as housing some returning favourites: Sonos and REL.
The addition not only expanded the show’s footprint, but also created a distinct separation between the television and hi-fi areas, giving visitors more room to explore and fully immerse themselves in the experiences they were most passionate about.
But the real draw? Six UK and/or world-first product showcases that wowed attendees, with some items so fresh they hadn’t even hit production yet! Here’s a look at some of the star attractions:
- Cyrus 40 Series: This brand-new line of compact, stylish 2-channel separates dazzled with both looks and sound, setting a high bar for modern audio equipment.
- Arcam Radia Phase 2: A sneak peek into Arcam’s 2024 premium streaming amps, some of which won’t hit the market until early 2025.
- Roksan Caspian Series: The latest iteration of the renowned Caspian range – with full details still under wraps – kept audiophiles buzzing.
- Ruark R610 & Sabre-Rs: Announced just days before the show, these speakers hark back to Ruark’s 2-channel roots and captivated audiences with their elegance and sound.
- DALI Rubikore Loudspeakers: Dressed in a striking maroon finish, these new speakers from the Danish brand were a feast for both the eyes and ears.
- KEF Q-Series: KEF teamed up with Yamaha to deliver a budget-friendly yet immersive Atmos home theatre experience featuring the latest Q-Series speakers, launched in late September.
Beyond the headliners, new releases continued to impress. Monitor Audio presented the compact yet powerful Studio89s and the 6th generation of the Gold series, while Henley Audio’s WiiM Ultra offered a fresh, high-quality alternative to wireless home audio.
The timing of the show coincides perfectly with many new product launches, but the dedication of brands bringing not only new but pre-production models to Cornwall demonstrates the growing significance of this event. It’s clear that the Cornwall Hi-Fi & Home Cinema Show is becoming an essential stop for brands eager to connect with customers in the South West and beyond.
Among the exhibitors, Cyrus Audio stood out, winning the prestigious “Adrian Dykes Award” for the best room at the show. Their new 40 Series, paired with Audio Physic Spark speakers, provided a stunning audio experience that both visitors and organisers loved. Special Recognition Awards were also given to LG and Ruark Audio for their outstanding contributions.
While the Cornwall Hi-Fi & Home Cinema Show remains a highlight of the year for tech enthusiasts, HBH Woolacotts continues to offer the same premium audio experience year-round. Their showrooms in Wadebridge, St Austell and Plymouth feature dedicated premium audio spaces where customers can test a wide range of products in a comfortable, quiet setting. Whether dropping by or booking an appointment, visitors can expect expert advice and hands-on access to the latest in hi-fi and home cinema technology.
With another successful show in the books, anticipation is already building for what 2025 will bring. If this year was any indication, the future looks very bright for Cornwall’s premier tech showcase!
