A History of Morphy Richards
Morphy Richards began in 1936 when engineer Donal Morphy and salesman Charles Richards joined forces to create products that would make everyday life easier and more comfortable. The company quickly made its mark by producing electric fires and, by 1938, electric irons, including the durable heat-controlled senior iron, which remains a household staple even today.
Registered as a private company in July 1936, Morphy Richards initially focused on radiators and electric irons but soon expanded its product range in the 1950s to include steam irons, toasters, hair dryers, fan heaters, food mixers, and electric blankets. During World War II, the company contributed to the war effort by manufacturing aircraft components under government contracts.

By the early 1990s, Morphy Richards had broadened its offerings to include a wide array of household appliances, such as kettles, toasters, coffee makers, and cookware.
